Alaska also offers (for your viewing pleasure!) glaciers, wildlife aplenty, Native Cultures, National Parks (17 national park units and 16 national wildlife refuges), walking trails and local parks, hiking and ice climbing, summer dog sledding, railroad tours, northern lights (aka Aurora Borealis), plus so much more. Brimming with interesting and charming small towns that are definitely worth a visit as well. While larger cities like Anchorage and Fairbanks are top tourist destinations, some of these hidden gem settlements are also worth seeing.
